The EP1809-0021 EtherCAT Box with digital inputs acquires the binary control signals from the process level and transmits them, in an electrically isolated form, to the controller. The state of the signals is indicated by light emitting diodes. The signals are connected via M8 screw type connectors.

The sensors are supplied from the box supply voltage US. The load voltage UP is not used in the input module, but it can be optionally connected for forwarding and is passed on to the next module.

The supply of the connected sensors is done by an internal, short-circuit proof driver module with a total of 0.5 A for all sensors.
